Schedule Changes at the Houghton Transfer Station
The King County Solid Waste Division will start a construction project at the Houghton Transfer Station during the last week of
July 2010. This will significantly limit customer access to the station on
weekdays until mid-December 2010. This temporary
service level reduction required Council approval, which was granted through Ordinance
16790, passed April 5.
Monday-Friday: Restricted station access: Last week of July –
mid-December 2010
During construction, the station will be closed on weekdays to all
customers except King County Solid Waste Division Account Holders –
these are customers who have posted a bond and are billed by the Solid Waste
Division. All other customers will be redirected to other county solid
waste facilities.
Saturday & Sunday: Station will be open, but operating at limited
capacity. Delays expected!
Recycling Services: Closed on weekdays, but open on weekends
